KOSTAS KARYOTAKIS

KOSTAS KARYOTAKIS (1896–1928) is considered to be one of the most important Greek poets of the twentieth century. He published three books: The Pain of Men and Things (1919), Nepenthe (1921), and Elegies & Satires (1927). In 1928, while working as a lawyer on refugee se ttlement issues stemming from the Greek debacle in Asia Minor, he commi tted suicide.
