Julian Farmer is a poet and translator from several languages, especially French, Classical Greek, Latin, Russian and now a little Chinese. He is trying to learn at least as many languages again as he has already studied, in particular, Sanskrit, Bengali, German, Hindi and Modern Greek. Although he was a good science student at school, he has always had a passion for literature. His study of lyric poetry is eclectic and almost universal. His own work is Romantic in feel and retains a critical, moral edge. He works part-time for a local shopkeeper and cooks for his family. Publications include, Staple, The London Magazine, Acumen, The Shop, Agenda, Stand Magazine and, of course, Modern Poetry in Translation.
