Lochlainn Óg Ó Dálaigh

Ó Dálaigh’s (O’Daley) poems date from the bardic period (1500’s), which in Ireland lasted from about 1200 to 1600. Poets such as Ó Dálaigh were trained professional craftsmen in the service of the local chieftains. They wrote countless praise-poems in elaborately wrought, fiercely conventional, learned verse.
